Mindful Monday - May 24th

Good morning and welcome back to another Mindful Monday email.

How was your weekend?
What are your top three favourite things that happened? (Or didn’t happen?)
What would you do differently next weekend?
How could you improve your next weekend?
Go on, make some notes, reflect, and gear up for an even better one next time!

While you’re at it… what’s the plan for this week?
What needs to get done and what would you love to get done?
There is a difference, and the outcomes will reflect this.
Make some more notes.

Why we love music
For thousands of years humans have not only loved but lived alongside music, but why? The answer may well be because our brains tend to like patterns and dopamine – music stimulates both. You can learn more here and see below for this week’s hot music tip.

Looking after your mental health
Always important yet often overlooked. Like most things, our mental health benefits greatly from regular mindful practices that independently may not seem like much, but once put together can make a huge difference.

Our friends at Form Nutrition have compiled their 8 top tips for a healthier mind. Highlights include journaling, being in nature and making your bed.

“Walking makes the world much bigger and thus more interesting. You have the time to observe the details.”
- Edward Abbey

Radical walking
Moving is important for not only our bodies but our minds (see Looking after your mental health). In her new book, Libby DeLana shares her experience of how committing to a morning walk reshaped her health and mind. You can dip your toe with a little excerpt here or grab the book, Do Walk, here.

Greta Van Fleet
This week’s music tip is from the young up-and-comers Greta Van Fleet. These guys are effortlessly cool, definitely channelling some serious Led Zeppelin power vibes, and bring a fresh face to hard rock.

Start here with Highway Tune and blast your way through their entire catalogue – you won’t be disappointed.

Have a magical week.

Big love,
Luke X
