Thoughtful Thursday - May 2nd

Hi everyone! Welcome back to a guest edition of Thoughtful Thursday with Callum from our Wandsworth Bridge Road Clinic taking over.

Clinic Updates & Happenings
Quick lil bit of housekeeping before we hand over to Cal. We officially now have WhatsApp at every clinic for you to message us! It is your clinic’s normal number and can be found here.

However, we can only message for now, so please call the actual phone if you wanna chat. All feedback so far has been extremely positive and has helped provide a smoother service for everyone, so keep a lookout as we may message you proactively.

There are a couple of bank holidays in May, which means there are a few chiros taking the opportunity for a quick break. Check out all of our clinic holidays and changes to stay up-to-date with what’s happening at your clinic.

Don’t forget, you can find us at the Richmond May Fair on Saturday, May 11th and the Wandsworth Bridge Road Fayre on Sunday, May 12th. You’ll find us surrounded by other brilliant local businesses, so come on down and say hey!

Cheers and over to you Cal!

And if you're sticking around London this summer, mark your calendars for some excitement!

The Wandsworth Demons have kicked off their season with a smashing win last Saturday, and we're gearing up for our first home game right on Clapham Common. Don't miss out on the action – swing by and witness the thrill of the greatest game in the world, AFL! 🏉

Full disclaimer: I’m coaching the Men’s Conference team this year so make sure to drop in and say hello! All dates and locations can be found on our Instagram @wandsworth_demons.

This Month’s Learning at Home/Shameless Plug
📚 This month we’re combining Learning at Home with our Shameless Plug: expand your mind with these reads and listens!

Here are a few of my own favourite, handpicked recommendations (beyond the realm of the Chiro.London Podcast, of course!).

📖 Book Recommendations:

Range by David Epstein (current read)
Challenge the conventional wisdom of specialisation with Epstein's captivating exploration of why "generalists" thrive in a specialised world.

Discover the beauty in knowing a little about a lot and ponder whether true mastery comes from focusing on one area or embracing a breadth of knowledge.

Unpack the 10,000-hour rule and explore how generalists continue to evolve and excel.

Lost Connections by Johann Hari (favourite read)
Delve into the depths of modern-day mental health challenges with Hari's thought-provoking book.

Question the status quo of merely treating symptoms and explore the importance of understanding the root causes behind our struggles.

Prepare to be inspired to seek genuine connections and confront the underlying issues that shape our well-being.

🎙️ Favourite Podcast: The Imperfects
Join the conversation on embracing imperfection and celebrating authenticity with The Imperfects podcast.

This podcast reminds us that we are all perfectly imperfect and that success often comes from embracing our struggles. Been my favourite podcast for many years now; from sports stars, actors, artists, and authors, there’s an interview for everyone.

Here are my three must-listen episodes:

- Ben Crowe, Mindset Coach: Gain valuable insights into challenging the traditional notions of success, becoming your own fan, and finding purpose in your journey.

One of the best well-spoken individuals going around. Working with the likes of tennis champion Ash Barty and megabrand Nike as a whole, I highly recommend this episode and this episode.

- Max Gawn (Captain of Melbourne FC): “The comment that changed everything!”

One of my favourites that can be applied not only on the sporting field but within the workplace, a friendship, or even a family. Let’s just be kinder in our communication. Listen here.

So whether you're craving a thought-provoking read or a soul-nourishing podcast, hopefully these recommendations will add a little something extra to your month of May – perfect timing with TWO bank holidays this month!

Thanks for taking the time to read my newsletter. Enjoy your May Monday lie-ins and hope to see you at a footy game soon!
